The Pine River Cup Invitational is fast approaching. The date this year is February 26, 2011. Doors will open for practice at 7:00 AM shoot begins at 8:30 AM. The 2010 Jakes event is Saturday, June 12th. This is a very worth while kids event that is free for kids 17 and under. This is an opportunity for kids to experience shooting BB guns, 22s, shotguns and muzzle loaders. There is a 3D archery coarse, fishing (catch and release), and many other misc. fun things for kids to experience. Please show your support whether bringing your kids or volunteering to help at the Jakes event. The Jakes event is located 3.5 miles south of Alma fairgrounds (1641 N. Alger rd.)

I would like to thank Deb and John Bebow for hosting Thursday night archery leagues at PRRC. Thank you for taking the time to make the shoot fun for everyone involved. We look forward to shooting with you again next year.

PRRC will be hosting a community sight in day on the following weekends and times Saturday October 31, 2009 and Sunday November 01, 2009 from 10:00 am - 3:00. Also the following weekend Saturday November 07, 2009 and November 08, 2009. The shooting hours will be the same both weekends.

Over 600 kids attended this year’s function! The archery events were nonstop action for six hours. Many kids had never shot a bow and some were amazingly accurate with their bows. Many parents asked where to purchase youth archery equipment. This was a good sign that hopefully showed sustained archery interest in our community!
I cannot speak for the firearms events other than to say they also were shooting nonstop all day!
Thanks to all the PRRC members that volunteered for this years Jakes event.
